Biya chairs political bureau meeting
Cameroon state radio and television reported earlier today that President Biya presided over a CPDM political bureau meeting in Yaoundé. Cameroon Intelligence Report gathered from the report that a number of decisions were reached, the most important being the postponement of the Fourth Ordinary Congress of the CPDM to a date yet to be announced.
The political bureau members also did what was expected from them by the 83 year old dictator. The members inter alia agreed to:
– The extension of the mandate of the National Chairman
– The extension of the mandates of the Political Bureau and Central Committee members whose mandates had expired
– The extension of the mandate of the National Bureau members whose mandates had expired
The Secretary General of the Central Committee of the ruling CPDM, Jean Nkuete made a presentation on the bill of health of the party which he revealed was positive. Biya we gathered congratulated CPDM militants for their commitment and invited all the different wings of the party to get fully involved in the economic and social life of the state.
The meeting was attended by all 23 members excluding Luc Ayang, Marafa Hamidou Yaya, Janvier Mongui Sossomba, unavoidably absent and Delphine Medjo who died.
