BICEC Bank workers to receive 300,000 FCFA as annual bonus
Trade Unions and workers of BICEC bank have cancelled a strike action over the distribution of annual bonuses. The decision to call off the strike was taken during a meeting with the Minister of Labour and Social Security, Gregoire Owona. At the end of the meeting the different stakeholders agreed that an average annual bonus of 300 thousand CFA Francs will be paid to each worker from the 4.5 billion CFA Francs profit made by the bank.
The agreement reached by the Minister of Labour and Social Security, the General Manager of BICEC Bank, Alain Ripert and the bankers trade union representatives laid to rest the internal wrangling over the annual bonuses. While workers claimed that BICEC made an annual profit of 12.5 billion CFA Francs, the bank administration announced a 4.5 billion CFA Francs profit.
