The communications department in the Francophone governor’s office, Buea County has reported that two police officers were killed yesterday in Otu village in Eyumojock Sub Division in Manyu. The press release also stated that the French Cameroun police were on patrol in the village.
The two officers were named as Inspectors Ngah and Nkelle. Both men were shot dead by armed Ambazonian militants. The French Cameroun governor’s office also revealed that Chief Sergeant Adama and a 2nd-grade police inspector were wounded in the attack and weapons were taken away by the attackers.
This is the second attack recorded in the Manyu State in less than 24 hours. On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, November 29, 2017, four soldiers belonging to the 22nd Infantry Mechanized Division(BIM) were killed in a similar attack.
Between October and November 2017, French Cameroun has already lost ten elements of its police in the Southern Cameroons crisis.
