Mr Barry Lowen has been appointed British High Commissioner to the Republic of Cameroon in succession to Dr Christian Dennys-McClure.

Barry Lowen had served as British Ambassador to Algeria and reportedly favoured economic diversification in priority sectors in Algeria such as agriculture, renewable energies, pharmaceuticals, digital and mining.

Mr Lowen will take up his appointment in July 2023.
