Are there hidden hands behind Koffi Olomide’s attack on Alpha Blondy?
In a video circulating on the internet for some days now, Antoine Christophe Agbepa Mumba, alias Koffi Olomide fired a salvo at Seydou Koné aka Alpha Blondy claiming the Ivorian reggae star has not done anything for his country. Said Koffi, “… Stop comparing me to that marijuana smoker whose only song remains Sweet Sweet Fanta Diallo. Apart from that, the drug addict has not done anything for his country.”
Koffi added, “Ask Alpha Blondy Who am I and he will answer. The so called Rasta man enjoyed a period when there was no valid competitor in Ivory Coast. I am Koffi Olomide and Alpha Blondy is not an example to me.”
Cameroon Intelligence Report entertainment editor Diamond Ebs Esoh who is monitoring this developing story opined that it is extremely difficult to understand the reaction of a singer adored in the Ivory Coast and with links to senior Ivorian government officials such as Guillaume Soro and Hamed Bakayoko.
CIR understands that the mega Ivorian star had sided with Koffi during his arrest last July in Kinshasa after he (Koffi) was caught on camera wearing blows against one of his dancers in Kenya. Alpha Blondy was quoted as saying, “The media has a bit exaggerated the story. They wanted to humiliate Koffi Olomide. What he has done is not good, but what they did is even worse. This is a clumsy gesture, which is unacceptable, but that’s not a reason to humiliate him like they did.”
Local media reports in Abidjan have suggested that the war declared by Koffi Olomide against Alpha Blondy certainly must have originated elsewhere.
