Africa Cup of Nations 2017: Cameroon to challenge Senegal, Morocco and Egypt in the group stage
The Executive Committee of the African Football Confederation, meeting on Tuesday, September 27 in Cairo, approved the draw procedure for the Africa Cup of Nations 2017 beginning on the 19th of October in Libreville, Gabon.
Cameroon is in pot 3 and it is evidently clear that she will challenge the likes of Senegal, Morocco and Egypt in the group stage.
The four groups are:
Pot 1: Gabon, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Algeria
Pot 2: Tunisia, Mali, Burkina Faso, DR Congo
Pot 3: Cameroon, Senegal, Morocco, Egypt
Pot 4: Togo, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Guinea Bissau
A delegation of the Local Organizing Committee of the African Cup of Nations Gabon 2017, led by its High Commissioner, Christian Kerangall, reportedly presented on September the 26th, 2016 to members of CAF’s organization committee a progress report of preparations for the final tournament scheduled from 14 January to 5 February 2017 in the cities of Libreville, Franceville and Port-Gentil Oyem.
