AFCON 2019: Biya says Cameroon is ready to host
The Cameroonian dictator, Paul Biya says Cameroon is ready to host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. Paul Biya, made the pronouncement on Thursday the 10th of August 2017 during a state reception offered in honour of Cameroonians athletes who won medals in international sporting events in 2017.
In the company of first lady, Chantal Biya, Cabinet Ministers, Diplomatic Corps and the entire sports family, Biya said Cameroon is a football nation and owes its gratitude to her athletes who have made the country proud in the past five decades.
The 85 year old said Cameroon is always ready to stand by her athletes and citizens to fight the course of the nation. During the reception, 192 athletes were decorated with medals ranging from gold, silver and bronze.
Among the recipients, sixty were decorated with gold medals, sixty-four in silver and and eighty-eight in bronze. The Presidential Couple chatted briefly with some of the guests before a family photo.
