Biya regime manipulating the National Commission for Human Rights
The so-called National Commission for Human Rights and Freedoms has announced that it will investigate allegations of violence in the Anglophone section of the country. The leadership of the commission that has maintained a kind of deliberate silence over the rapes , arbitrary arrest and extra judicial killings going on in Southern Cameroons has said the body now intends to open up an inquiry into the happenings in Southern Cameroons.
Members of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms who are all on the pay roll of the ruling CPDM crime syndicate have recently dispatched a bunch of Francophone agents to Bamenda and Buea to investigate allegations of violence reported during the demonstrations of the 8th of December 2016.
A very provocative statement from the Francophone dominated body stated that “the National Commission for Human Rights and Freedoms wishes to unravel the truth of these allegations.” However, we gathered that pressure is mounting from renowned rights groups such as Amnesty International, which had earlier denounced the disproportionate use of force against demonstrators and called for an independent investigation.
