120 minutes was not enough to decide between Cameroon and Senegal on Saturday night in Franceville in the second quarterfinal of Total Africa Cup of Nations 2017.

After a well-balanced match with many chances created by both teams it was finally Cameroon which imposed a 5 to 4 defeat against Senegal after a penalty shootout. History repeated itself as the Lions had recorded a similar result at the 2002 finals in Mali.

The Senegalese Liverpool star, Sadio Mané got his penalty saved by Fabrice Ondoa before Vincent Aboubakar fired Cameroon’s 5^th penalty home. Cameroon will play the winners of the encounter DRC and Ghana on the 2^nd of February in the semifinals.

The final recorded the lowest view ever in the English section of the country as the nation is now divided. Southern Cameroonians no longer feel part of the Republic of Cameroon following the arrest of their leaders and the disconnection of internet services throughout West Cameroon.

The Cameroon Anglophone Civil Society Consortium has announced a continuation of ghost town operation for Mondays and Tuesdays every week. The Consortium maintains schools and business will remain closed in Southern Cameroons until all Anglophone demands are met.

The Francophone government has been shying away from the Anglophone problem and making it looks as if it is all about promoting bilingualism. Southern Cameroon cities, towns and villages are expected to shutdown tomorrow Monday and Tuesday.
