Minister Rene Sadi urges donor organizations to raise funds for refugees in Cameroon
The Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, Rene Emmanuel Sadi has urged partners and donor organizations to draw up a plan of action that will help raise more funds for refugees and displaced persons living in Cameroon.
He was speaking on Tuesday the 3rd of January 2017 in Yaoundé during the launch of the 4th Humanitarian Response Plan that will go operational between 2017 and 2020. Present during the occasion was the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations System, Najat Rochdi, who disclosed that the program can kick start with 10 million dollars, drawn from the UN System Emergency Fund.
Among the number of refugees present in Cameroonian soil, are 270,000 CAR refugees. While encouraging donors to leave no stone un-turn, so as to guarantee the survival of refugees, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization expressed the need to raise about 140 million dollars which is just half of the amount that was raised last year.
