Yaoundé will host on Friday the 23^rd of December 2016 an extraordinary summit of Heads of State of Cameroon, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Chad, Congo and the Central African Republic. In the official program published Wednesday 21 December 2016 by the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic, it is stated that the arrival of the leaders of the member countries of the CEMAC (Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa) is set for today Thursday from 3pm at the Nsimalen International airport in Yaoundé.

The program did not elaborate on the topics that will be on the agenda. However, Cameroon Intelligence Report understands the leaders are going to assess the implementation of the resolutions taken last year in Libreville in Gabon at the 12th session of the Conference of Heads of State of the CEMAC region.

Some political observers say the forum will inter alia examine the free movement of goods and services in the zone and the fight against the Nigerian Islamic sect, Boko Harm. It is vital to include in this report that none of any CEMAC commitments has been honored. For instance, citizens of CEMAC countries are still not allowed to enter countries like Gabon and Equatorial Guinea without a visa.
