Revealed: Real reasons President Biya fired the SDO of Dja and Lobo Division
It has been revealed that the former Senior Divisional Officer for Dja and Lobo, Bernard Marie Mba recently dismissed by President Biya was making a mockery of the head of state each time he went out for a meet-the-people tour. Cameroon Intelligence Report gathered that he fired the first salvo publicly when he was informed some people were complaining that he was too old for his duties as Prefect. Bernard Marie Mba sacked last Thursday, September 29, 2016 and replaced immediately by David Koulbout Aman, responded in the presence of local forces of law and order: “You ask me to leave as SDO. I was born in 1961. Your so called Head of State was born in 1933 and he is still there.”
For 34 years as president of the republic, Paul Biya has practically never signed a decree dismissing only a senior divisional officer. Addressing militants of the ruling CPDM party, D.O. Bernard Marie Mba wondered aloud that: “Paul Biya how can you dismiss a competent minister like Marafa Hamidou Yaya and replace him with an incompetent idiot like Rene Sadi?”
During a trip to Sangmélima, the former SDO attacked President Biya saying: “Paul Biya cannot develop Sangmélima after 33 years in power!! Go and see what Ahidjo did in Garoua!” He again took on the president recently when he claimed “Paul Biya ruined my career by sending me to Kousseri when I was preparing my DEA [Diploma of Advanced Studies]”.
His last remark was delivered when President Biya was passing in a convoy of cars to his native village of Mvomeka’a. Bernard Marie Mba reportedly observed that, “Fortunately, Biya will not be head of state again for long.” Bernard Marie Mba, from the Ocean Division, had become unbearable for the political and administrative elite of Dja and Lobo. He even threatened to ban Radio Colombe, a community radio station based in Sangmélima, which was regularly calling on President Paul Biya to run for president in 2018.
