General Manager of CAMWATER suspended
Fortune Kane, the Secretary General of the Ministry in charge of Higher State Control has withdrawn all documentation from Alphonse Roger Ondoa Akoa and ordered him to step aside as general manager of the Cameroon Water Utilities Corporation (CAMWATER). Cameroon Intelligence Report gathered from reliable sources that Alphonse Roger Ondoa Akoa was hinted of the decision last Monday after an emergency board meeting of the company that held in Yaounde.
Information also filtered that Secretary General, Fortune Kane personally travelled to Douala to prevent Ondoa Akoa from entering his office on Monday the 26th of September 2016. It is now confirmed that the general manager of CAMWATER has been suspended—a decision recently denied by close associates of Alfonse Roger Ondoa Akoa.
The drama started on September the 19th when Alphonse Roger Ondoa Akoa made public his decision to suspend two senior staffs of the company: Jean Dieudonné Mah, and Marc Essomba Bomba for what he stated as “misappropriation of public funds”. In response, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, by a correspondence dated 21st of September 2016, informed the general manager that such a decision mindful of the law governing CAMWATER was the responsibility of the Board.
Alphonse Roger Ondoa Akoa was advised to cancel with immediate effect the suspension of the said officials which he blatantly refused. It was based on these facts that an extraordinary Board of Directors meeting was convened on September the 23rd in Yaounde that has eventually sent his parking.
