CPDM Senator dies in Yaounde
CPDM Senator from Mvila, South region, Delphine Medjo (seen here with barons of the regime from the Ocean Division) has died from an illness at the University Teaching Hospital in Yaounde aged 75. She was one of the first female activists of the former ruling party, the Cameroon National Union, CNU of the late President Ahmadou Ahidjo. She started politics in 1962 in Douala with the Cameroon Union of Charles Assalé the then Prime Minister of East Cameroun.
A Councillor for nearly 40 years, she participated in all actions of the ruling CPDM and was a chartered member of both the CPDM Central Committee and politburo from 1998. The former Inspector of Primary and Nursery Education in the South, Delphine Medjo was born in March 1941 in Douala and was a mother of 7 children.
