Douala: Police neutralized gunmen at a Boulangerie in Akwa
Gunmen have been neutralized by the forces of law and order in Douala the economic capital and two private security guards presented as their accomplices were arrested. The heavily armed men raided a “Boulangerie” (Bakery) in Akwa on Monday the 5th of September 2016.
After intense exchange of artillery fire, the elements of the judicial police in the Littoral region succeeded to arrest nine members of the gang. Police sources hinted CIR that 3 were still on the run.
The robbers entered the premise using fake badges and gained access to the office of the cashier and were about to depart when the Douala police responded with gun shots. The gang leader aged 42, was seriously injured.
Cameroon Intelligence Report also gathered from a police source that the gang had carried 90 million CFA francs from the bakery including 17 million FCFA from a nearby Chinese shop.
