Chief of Army Staff General Rene Claude Meka inspects project sites in the Baksassi Peninsula
After the building of some schools, hospitals and government offices, the Biya regime reportedly embarked on the building of the fishermen’s village at Isangele and four Telecommunications pylons in four other villages in the Bakassi Peninsula.
Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Rene Claude Meka who toured the project sites of the Bakassi Peninsula expressed satisfaction after seeing that the project is almost completed. General Rene Meka instructed the Military Engineering Corps to make sure that the telecom project is realized within the time frame prescribed by government.
The telecoms pylons is actually 75m long each designated for Bamusso, Jabane, Riote and Akwa villages of the Bakassi Peninsula. The military boss extended the Head of State’s word of encouragement to the Soldiers for their loyalty towards Cameroon’s development process.
The director of the Military Engineering Corps, Colonel Jackson Kamngeng hinted General Meka of the little difficulties encountered by his team but however promised that the job will be completed soon.
The Commander of the Second Combined Military Region, Major General Sali Mohammadou, as well as some top military officials of the South West region were part of the inspection team. The project is part of President Biya’s visions to provide a better living condition to Cameroonians of the Bakassi Peninsula.
