Douala: 6 killed by massive explosion
A massive explosion caused by a gas cylinder has killed 6 people and left a dozen wounded in Douala, the economic capital of Cameroon. A lady reportedly purchased gas and noticed a leak on the valve and was about returning it to the seller when a fire of rare intensity erupted.
Two children, 11 and 3 years old died instantly from the explosion including a primary school teacher and her 10 year old son. At the time of filing this report, police sources revealed that a neighbour and a 12 year old were also killed.
Approximately a dozen people wounded are currently in intensive care in both the Bonassama and the Douala General Hospital.
