The Special Criminal Court has ordered Bernard Messengue Avom, former Minister of Public Works; Robert Nkili, former Minister of Transport; Bruno Bekolo Egbe, former Rector of the University of Douala and William Sollo, former Director of the Cameroon Water Utilities to appear again before state prosecutors next week. They were all at the court last Friday for questioning and the judges have requested a second hearing.
Bernard Messengue Avom, former Minister of Public Works is wanted by the court over allegations of mismanagement in the Ayos-Bonis road construction project in the East region while he was head of the Department of Transport.
Robert Nkili, former Minister of Transport is expected to clear his name over huge amounts of money injected to revamp the ephemeral airline company that never happened.
The former Rector of the University of Douala, Bruno Bekolo Egbe, who reportedly prevented all agents of the Supreme State Audit from seeing through the institution’s accounting books, will have to make those documents available now at the Special Criminal Court.
And finally, William Sollo, former general manager of the Cameroon Water Utilities, will be responding to massive fraud charges brought against him during his time as the CPDM boss of the Cameroon Water Utilities.
