Two drivers working at the presidency of the republic including an agent from the National Anti-Corruption Commission and their accomplice have been arrested in Douala as they tried to rip a pastor. The four men are currently being held at the Gendarmerie Company in Douala 2 Ndogbong. Cameroon Intelligence Report was reliably informed that the undercover operation to track down the gang took place on June the 30th, 2016 and they were presented to the press on 5 July 2016.

Local media reports say they will be heard by a state prosecutor on July 7, 2016. The alleged crooks with very close ties with senior Cameroon government officials were caught while trying to extort money from a pastor of the Evangelical Church, Winners’ Chapel. The young men all in their 40s reportedly told the man of God that they had been sent on a mission to control all Pentecostal churches operating in the Littoral region. They had a pass from the Presidency of the Republic which sources at Unity Palace have hinted that it was forged, a toy gun, incriminating documents from the Presidency of the Republic and the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC).

The fake presidential controllers had a telephone appointment with the pastor of Winners Chapel at Ndogbong in Douala and presented themselves as sent by the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic. They brandished professional badges and a mission order signed by one of the technical advisers to the President of the Republic before checking the documents of the Church. The man of God became suspicious when they suggested that he paid a ransom for them to produce a favorable report.  The pastor rescheduled another appointment and alerted the forces of law and order.

Our chief intelligence officer who contributed to this report opined that there was more to it than the state owned radio and television CRTV reported. We are aware that the civil cabinet of the presidency of the republic has had so many nasty complaints from the public.
