Mr Leo back in action!!!
Leonard Fonyuy Nsobunrika is a rising musician who is at his third album with the trendiest “On Va Gérer.” Born in 1990, in the South West Regional Capital Buea, Fonyuy Nsobunrika Leonard, popularly known as Mr Leo, is gradually becoming a household name in the music world in Cameroon. Growing up from a para-military camp in Buea (Waders Barracks), this young artist, native of Nso in the North West Region, has proven that good music can come out of a military ghetto which was full of love, hate, violence and poverty. Today, Mr Leo is a singer in Afro pop, Reggae and R&B, with his songs being ricocheted over various radio and TV stations in the country.
The Nso boy’s journey into the musical world started when he joined the “Break through voices” school choir back then in the high school. Later he moved to the Molyko neighbourhood in Buea, where he started going to studios not only to meet other artists but also to perfect his style. In January 2015, Mr Leo signed a record deal with Alpher Better Records and released his first single titled “E go betta” which gave him a mark as the love bird. He released his 2nd official single in November 2015, “On Va Gérer”. “On Va Gérer” is an expression in French translated in English as “We shall manage.”
This is a continuation of his 1st single. The 2nd album which is considered a love album has other songs such as “Femme” and “C’est faux”. These songs have earned Mr Leo five musical awards; best lyricist, best new artist, best video (e go better), best song with a message and best Cameroonian soul music since he made his mark one year ago in the music world.
Mr Leo has just released a new single titled “Kemayo”. The song is making waves across Cameroon and the entire African Continent. Mr Leo says he is working harder than ever before for there is more to come….Fonyuy Nsobunrika Leonard is unmarried and does not have any child yet.
