Fox News calls Donald Trump a ‘dictator’
America’s flagship conservative network Fox News has stirred a controversy by referring to Republican President Donald Trump as a “dictator,” in what administration critics are describing as a rather Freudian slip.
The embarrassing gaffe occurred on Sunday, when a host on Fox&Friends, Trump’s favorite program on the network, was discussing the June 12 meeting between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Singapore with former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci.
“Regardless of what happens in that meeting between the two dictators, what we are seeing right now, this is history,” Abby Huntsman, the host, told Scaramucci as she asked him to comment on the landmark summit.
The slip-up went over Scaramucci’s head, who began by praising Trump for “breaking the usual bonds.”
Huntsman’s slip-up set the social media on fire as users jumped on the opportunity to crack jokes at the president, who on many occasions has invited Americans to watch Fox News instead of other “fake news” channels.
