La Republique: Boko Haram kills 6 in the Far North region
At least 6 civilians were killed this week and 5 others sustained life threatening injuries in several attacks attributed to Boko Haram in the so-called safe communities in the Far North region in French Cameroun.
Cameroon Intelligence Report gathered that the attacks occurred in the villages of Bourvare and Vourkaza in the frontiers with the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
According to Cameroon military sources, armed men arrived on board motorcycles and fired shots in the air causing the villagers to flee. During the operation, Boko Haram fighters set fire on many homes and stole cattle. This week’s report puts the number of people killed in attacks on Boko Haram at 17, within a week.
The 85 year-old Francophone dictator has deployed thousands of troops to Southern Cameroons leaving the Far North region and its people vulnerable.
