Yaounde: Speaker adjourns parliament as rowdy SDF MPs disrupt proceedings with Vuvuzelas
SDF MPs once again blocked work at the National Assembly yesterday the 11th of December 2017. The opposition Members of Parliament continued on Monday, December 11, 2017 with their blockade operation in the Francophone dominated National Assembly.
This time around while work was going on quietly, the SDF parliamentarians came on the scene with vuvuzelas. The noise caused by this musical instrument, forced the president of the National Assembly to adjourn work that was in progress. The other deputies, powerless in the face of the act of their SDF colleagues, began to applaud.
Since the opening of the budgetary session on November 14, 2017, the Social Democratic Front has staged demonstrations throughout deliberations. The SDF says that the Anglophone crisis should be a subject on the agenda. “There will be no deliberation, no plenary. Above all, we demand the opening of an inclusive dialogue on the Anglophone crisis, “Jean-Michel Nintcheu, SDF deputy from Littoral, explained on 23 November.
