SDF: NEC to hold emergency meeting in Bamenda
The Social Democratic Front (SDF) has convened for Saturday, October 28, 2017 the members of its National Executive Committee. The so-called main opposition party in a press release issued on October 23 and signed by the secretary general, Senator Tsomalou Jean, indicated that the important ordinary meeting will be held in Bamenda under the chairmanship of the SDF leader, Ni John Fru Ndi.
Without revealing the various points that will be debated at the meeting, Senator Tsomalou Jean, noted that the important meeting will be extended to all elected SDF officials and members of the National Advisory Council (NAC) of the party.
Some political observers have opined that the 2018 presidential elections and the crisis that has rocked the Southern Cameroons will be on the agenda. Cameroon Intelligence Report gathered that the party also intends to take stock of the Douala demonstration that was staged in solidarity with Southern Cameroonians but repressed by law enforcement officers loyal to the regime in Yaounde.
A well-placed SDF source noted that the Congress of the Social Democratic Front that was scheduled for October 27 but postponed “to a later date,” could also be the focus of next Saturday’s meeting.
