Barrister Agbor Balla weighs in on Buea Malingo Junction accident
My brothers and sisters, each time I learn the news of an unfortunate event, I react like anybody else would : a parent.
Last night in Buea, a truck belonging to the gendarmes rammed into several vehicles and bystanders at Malingo Junction. Leaving several injured and at least one confirmed civilian death.
Ewane Nora lost her life to this accident, a beautiful lady in her vibrant youth. She was my student at the University of Buea, a brilliant level 400 Law Student. She had her entire life and future ahead of her, graduation, birthdays, wedding, kids of her own.
Here we are shedding tears because her life was cut short by one of many road accidents. We are in tears again, and our hearts are broken once more with unanswered questions of why, what caused this accident, could it be avoided, are our roads safe, are our vehicles mechanically checked?
We extend our sincere condolences to the Ewane family and all those injured. Our hearts are heavy, we pray for you and we will enjoin you to share in your pain. God bless you all!
