Clinton Njie is back
The super form displayed by striker Clinton Njie during the preparatory matches staged by Olympique de Marseille was confirmed on Sunday, August 6, 2017 during a reception accorded to Dijon in the match counting for the first day of France’s Ligue 1.
Clinton Njie came in as a replacement for his former West Ham colleague, Dimitry Payet at halftime and scored two of the three Marseille goals. Clinton’s first goal came in the 51st minute from a risky diving header following a great ball delivered by Valère Germain from the right flank.
That paved the way for Florent Thauvin to double the setting in the 54th minute. Clinton’s efforts in the Marseille attack was again rewarded in the 72nd minute when he scored from a personal action of very high class that culminated to a strike diverted by Rosier. Final score 3-0 for OM. It is a good start for Clinton left out of the Confederations Cup by Hugo Broos.
