Canal 2 International television channel has aired a report showing the former general manager of CRTV in the Kondengui prison. The news item was staged by one of the members of the Francophone CPDM Diaspora who visited the detention facility to celebrate her birthday.

Gervais Mendo Ze was seen taking selfies alongside other prominent political prisoners notably, Jean Atangana Mebara, former Minister and Secretary General at the presidency of the republic.

The CPDM Diaspora team made generous donations to the inmates including toiletries and medicines. The report that was made public on Wednesday the 12th of July 2017 has been condemned by many Yaoundé based civil society organizations.
