President Biya has assigned Minister Rene Sadi to represent him at the 11th Plenary Assembly of the Association of Episcopal Conferences of the Central African sub region (Acerac) which opens solemnly today Monday the 10th of July at the Palais des Congrès in Yaoundé. The 84 year old dictator had long accepted to be present as a guest of honour but reportedly made a dramatic u turn as tension continues to mount over the Bishop Bala affair.

The prelates from the four corners of the sub region communion on Sunday in a pontifical mass that held in the Cathedral of Our Lady in Yaoundé. From Monday the 10th of July through Sunday the 16th, the Roman Catholic Bishops will discuss the theme “Ecumenism and Interfaith Dialogue in Central Africa”.

Given the social tensions in Southern Cameroons and the war against Boko Haram, which has affected many countries in the sub region including Chad and Cameroon and of course the civil war and religious conflict in the Central African Republic, the theme of this 11th The plenary assembly of the Association of Episcopal Conferences of the Central African sub region could not have been better.
