222 victims of the Eseka train accident discharged from hospital
Government sources have revealed that over 222 victims that were rushed to Yaoundé at the wake of the Eseka train accident have been discharged from hospital. Two ladies; Malienne Toure Abouhani and Hotance Ndongo Onnasy were among the group that was released from the Yaoundé Military Hospital.
Officials say some 40 victims who sustained major injuries were still receiving treatment in hospitals located in the nation’s capital Yaoundé.
It is exactly three weeks after the Eseka tragic incident and Cameroonians have still not gotten the factual death toll of the disaster. The regime in Yaoundé recently told the world that 79 people were killed and 600 injured. But opposition groups including the independent media have all challenged the government and stated the contrary.
Cameroon Intelligence Report understands that among the over 600 injured victims, some 300 were rushed to four state hospitals: the Central Hospital, Yaounde Emergency Centre, Yaounde Teaching Hospital and the Military Hospital.
