A Cameroon government soldier was reported wounded in a heavy gun battle in Ekok town in the Manyu State on Wednesday night, Mamfe Police said.

Ambazonian militants chanting the Southern Cameroons national anthem attacked a contingent of the Francophone dominated government forces in Ekok which borders the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

There were no immediate comments from the Cameroon army spokesman in the South West region about the Ambazonia attack.
